About Us

The OCFA Pipes and Drums

is the official band of the Orange County Fire Authority,

California, U.S.A.

The Orange County Fire Authority Pipes & Drums, was created in late 1997 by Fire Captain Marc Stone after several tragic losses to our department. After receiving additional help from Engineers Tommy Harris and Shawn McDaniel the band became an official function of the Fire Authority in March 1999

The band is directed by Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion. The group has twenty official members and eight students that have a desire to learn. The pipe band has performed at various functions such as academy graduations, promotional ceremonies, dedications, memorials and funerals. We have also been requested for neighboring fire departments, colleges, the Jay Leno Show and the Rose Parade to name a few.

The band is unique in the fact that all of it's members are employed by the Orange County Fire Authority. The band hopes to perfect it’s ability to perform, bringing Fire Department tradition to its events. The band’s motto “Onair Do Na Marbh”, Gaelic for “Honor the Fallen” is represented in the band’s logo to remember those firefighters who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The Orange County Fire Authority is made up of  1300 firefighters in 66 fire stations with an annual call load of 92,000  runs serving 1.5 million citizens within Orange County. Visit this link to learn more about our department. www.ocfa.org
